Description

Our calcium silicate boards are hard and light insulators which can resist temperatures up to 1100°C. They are traditionally used as underlying insulation of industrial ovens, but for your home projects they can be useful when building pizza ovens, barbeques and fireplaces. The fact that they are light and resistant makes them an easy material to work with (using basic tools) and they are less likely to fray. Our calcium silicate board is an eco-friendly insulator.

Why buy your calcium silicate boards from PROSIREF ?

Our 1100°C calcium silicate boards are of industrial quality. PROSIREF has a long history of working with major industries. We are actually one of the few providers of calcium silicate which can resist temperatures of up to 1100°C (higher than the usual 1000°C), and who have a large range of sizes available. When you order with PROSIREF, you can choose the size of the panel that is closest to what you need, avoiding any losses, and we will guarantee professional quality.

When can I use 1100°C calcium silicate boards at home?

Our clients tend to use these boards for insulating their fireplaces, wood stoves, boilers or ovens. These panels have 5 main advantages for these types of projects:

  • Lightness and stability: light, structural and self-supporting material. Density: 245kg/m3.
  • Excellent crush resistance: can resist heavy weight (e.g.an oven floor)
  • Easy to cut: machining can be done with simple tools.
  • Eco-friendly: Calcium silicate in a non-polluting, fibre-free insulator.
  • Very high insulating power: Low thermal conductivity which reduces heat loss .

PROSIREF’s « pro » advice: how to use calcium silicate panels

  • Calcium silicate boards can resist humidity and can even clean parts.
  • Before plastering (e.g. CE78 plaster), painting or roughcasting, prepare your panel by applying Siliconate 51T water repellent.
  • Under no circumstances should calcium silicate panels come into contact with fire. They can resist high temperatures but not flames.
  • Finishing: possibility of building a facing with black or brown refractory bricks to give an aesthetic finish. To do this, use our Pyromix glue.
  • Assemble the boards together with our Prosicol 45 glue.
  • Using a special glue for calcium silicate is essential.
  • Use a sharp saw to avoid any fraying and to ensure a clean cut.
